Sonal Shah is a passionate artist with a penchant for ceramic painting, based in Mumbai. Ten years ago, out of curiosity she entered the fascinating world of porcelain and since then has remained captivated by its charm. Her exposure to distinctive painting techniques adopted by Felipe Pereira, Birgit Porter and her mentor Uma Malik have crafted a deeper understanding of the discipline. She continues to be a keen student at Uma Malik’s Hand and Heart studio while simultaneously creating her own artworks.
Sonal has a fondness for delicate works inspired by nature and our Indian heritage. This has been a recurring theme since her commercial artist days when she worked in oils and watercolors.
Sonal’s zeal for learning has led to a diverse study of creative arts – from Professional Food photography and Decopatch paintings in her early years to experimenting with Indian Miniature Paintings after attending a memorable workshop conducted by the renowned Miniature artist Mahavir Swamiji at Bikaner.
